ultimate guide to social media mindfulness
Have you ever had a thought come up for you often without it being related to anything?
Or have you had a strong feeling you can’t shake off?
Or even had a picture pop into your head?
That, dear friend, is your intuition trying to talk to you.
You see, all of us have a higher power that guides us and tries to steer us toward our soul’s purpose: to the direction of what’s good for us.
Guides, higher self, ancestors, Universe, God, call it what you’d like.
But it’s undeniable that a higher force looks out for us and knows what we need to be happy.
And if you’re wondering, “how can I be happy,” the answer is simple: by fulfilling your soul’s purpose, which is what you’re meant to be doing on Earth.
A.K.A.: What sets your heart on fire.
Tapping into your intuition will help you find and follow this purpose, and I know it can be scary or sound impossible to connect with the source in that way.
But trust me: the answers are within you, and they have been all along.
Keep reading to learn about intuition and how to tap into it.
As I said, your intuition guides you to your soul’s purpose, this means it can help you with everything in your daily life, including:
Basically, your intuition can help you live a more aligned and meaningful life.
That sounds like a pretty good reason to learn how to tap into it, don’t you think?
Here’s the deal about intuition: once you tap into it and truly connect, it’s tough to ignore it.
And the only thing that can make you ignore it is allowing fear in (believe me, I allowed fears of all sorts to dominate my life on the daily, and that’s when I was unhappiest!).
So, you need to catch that fear and set it aside consciously: look at it, recognize it for what it is and let it go.
Once you do that, you’re ready to tap into your intuition.
Here are some of my favorite activities you can do every day to bring your intuition forward:
These sound simple, but they work because they allow you to disconnect and connect (if that makes any sense).
But there’s something you can do that will allow you to stay connected more often. I call it the secret sauce.
Here’s something nobody tells you: you can use any (and I mean any) activity to tap into your intuition.
Yes, even chores that you’re not looking forward to doing!
But for any activity to be fruitful and help you connect with the message you need to hear, you need to be intentional.
I’ll write it again in all caps to make sure it sinks in: BE INTENTIONAL.
Got it? Cool, let me tell you what that means.
You can’t just go for a walk or sit in silence and expect the answers to come. And they will come if they’re on the surface, but chances are: they’re deep within you and have a little trouble coming out.
By being intentional, you’re nudging those intentions forward and letting them know it’s okay for them to come out.
So let’s say you feel like your thoughts are all over the place when trying to make a decision. And you have to organize your closet, which is messy.
You can use organizing your closet as the activity that will allow you to find the answers you need. But before you do that: set the intention, and give it meaning!
Say something out loud like:
“By organizing this closet, I’ll get the clarity I need to make x decision. I trust that I have the answers within me and that the Universe will guide me to them.”
And then let it go.
You can even take it one step further: make it a wholesome experience! Light candles, incense, and journal after you’re done.
But the key is: say what you want to get out of doing that activity (whatever it is) out loud.
Connecting with your higher self, with your innermost being, means you’re letting it know that it is okay for it to speak up and guide you.
And it’ll also make you more aware of the hints you’re getting every day from your guides (and believe me, there are signs all over, all the time!).
Practicing tapping into your intuition often teaches your mind to look at the small things and interpret them with your heart.
And here’s all you need to begin tapping into your intuition: trusting. Just trust!
